CIVIL WAR AMES M 1850 PRESENTED TO LT COLONEL BENJAMIN T WRIGHT FOUGHT AT SHILOH, CORINTH AND FORT DONELSON 22ND INFANTRYThe sword is an 1850 foot officer"s sword with metal scabbard, engraved on the pommel Cap. Ben. T. Wright Cini, Ohio.” The hilt is excellent, and the grip is wrapped with grey sharkskin wrapped with twisted brass wire. The blade is stamped on the ricasso, Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee Mass. “in the Ames scroll. The blade is in excellent condition, and is etched with âU.S.” on one side, with florals and a trophy of arms. The other side also has the florals, and a trophy of arms with a smaller US Eagle with Union Shield on his breast. The scabbard is blued steel with handsome brass mounts.
