Through a time-tripping story, the film escapes the definitive ending of Beneath by taking our favorite apes back in time to present day earth, which finds them met with reflexive human prejudice and fear. It's "liberals" versus "conservatives" as the socially conscious contingent tries to save the scapegoated ape family.
