    Description

Here is a lot of 2 grisly original Italian fotobustas (17" x 29") for the first release of Pete Walker's brilliant tale of rural cannibalism and social impropriety Frightmare (1974). Walker's unrelentingly grim mise en scene permeates the tale of "recovered" cannibal Sheila Keith and her enabling husband moving to the countryside after being released from the asylum. Keith puts an advert in the newspaper for her Tarot readings and soon lonely souls are coming to the farmhouse and drawing the "death" card. Between Walker's totally convincing performance and the strong sense of place conferred by Walker's cinema verite sensibilities there are moments that transcend genre conventions in the same way that Texas Chainsaw Massacre does.
This fotobusta lot contains the most famous image from the film and its posters, a crazed-looking Keith, blood dripping from her mouth, clutching a piece of her latest victim.
