    Description

US Civil War Model 1840 Shortened Musician Sword. The brass grip is tight but the crossguard does move, and the knuckleguard has been removed at some point. There is a "15" on the underside of the crossguard. The blade is etched with "W.H.H." (on one side, the reverse has a faint "dph"), there are also flags and floral designs. The blade has been cut down to a knife size, has been sharpened (very sharp), a few nicks, there is a darkened patina throughout, and the tip is jagged. Washer is missing. Length of the blade is 10 1/4" (13/16" wide and 1/4" thick) and overall the sword is 15 7/8".
