A well built example with a lovely natural wood grip and strong brass mounts, wearing a powerful large double edged blade of oval cross-section, showing its native rough surface being hand forged by a neighborhood blacksmith to give it to one of the youngsters joining the Confederate Army, his son perhaps, as the knife is built with much love and a very skillful touch. Solid and intact overall with natural splits in the wood handle and nice rich patina throughout.
    Overall : 20 1/2", Blade : 14 3/4"
